WSUTA / IURPA Joint Conference Information
September 16-19, 2024
Hilton Sacramento Arden West
Sacramento, California
The mission of WSUTA is to develop and support an ongoing effort to combat revenue loss through theft of utility service(s) thereby reducing the unfair financial burden placed on other ratepayers.
With work hours cut, job losses, price increases, and businesses facing closures, utilities may experience an increase in theft as some customers might choose to take unrealistic and illegal measures to get more for less. It’s with strong efforts and knowledgeable staff working towards catching and eliminating theft, that the revenue stream from utility sales can remain stable and on track with production, ensuring that rates stay as low as possible for as long as possible.
The Western States Utility Theft Association meets one time per year at the annual conference. Annual dues will be levied to members of the Association at the rate of $50 annually, which shall be included in the conference meeting fee.
The election of Officers shall be held at this annual meeting. Those eligible for nomination include all members in good standing, including current and past officers. Nominations for Officers must be made in person, from the floor. Each nominee must know the duties of the office he/she is being nominated to fill, and must have committed himself/herself to the nominating member to accept the nomination.
It’s our responsibility to succeed in this effort by providing informative, relevant, and useful presentations and discussions to our membership. We will continue working on bringing in presenters covering a wide range of topics of concern for all utilities.
